WHAT WE BELIEVE:

Who is God?

We believe that there is one and only living and true God. We believe that God has revealed himself in both creation and the Bible and his character, attributes, and identity are clearly identified in scripture. God is the Almighty Creator, Savior and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to His sovereign will for His own glory. God is infinitely holy, utterly loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, and worthy of all praise and worship. God is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being. We believe God exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons: the Father (God), the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, John 1:14-18, Colossians 1:15-20, Hebrews 1:1-4).

Who is Jesus?

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all his words are true. Out of His great love Christ died on the cross in the place of sinners, bearing God’s punishment for their sin, redeeming them by His blood. He rose from the dead and in His resurrection body ascended into heaven where He is exalted as Lord of all. He intercedes for His people in the presence of the Father. (John 1:14-18, John 14:6-11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-7, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20)

Who is the Holy Spirit?

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven to glorify Christ and to apply His work of salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life and gives a true understanding of the Scriptures. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He indwells all believers, brings assurance of salvation and produces increasing likeness to Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. (John 14:16-17, John 15:26, John 16:7-15)

Who are We?

We believe that God created men and women in His image. As such, all people have inherent and equal dignity and worth. As a result of the fall of mankind, however, every aspect of human nature has been corrupted and all men and women are without spiritual life and made ourselves enemies with God. Therefore, everyone needs to reconciled to God in order to have spiritual life, to know and please Him (Genesis 1:27, Romans 8:7, Romans 3:10-18, Ephesians 2:1-10).

What is Salvation?

Salvation is how every person can be reconciled to God. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His death on the cross and resurrection from the death, obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation is by faith alone, by the work of Christ alone, by grace alone, and to the glory of God alone. We believe that regeneration, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart affected by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which a person responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment to Him as Lord and Savior. (John 3:1-21, Matthew 11:25-30, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 3:21-26, Philippians 1:6, Philippians 2:12-13, Romans 8:30, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, Mark 1:14-15)

What is the Bible?

The Bible is made up of sixty-six books, the Old and New Testament. We believe that every word of the Bible is inspired by God through human authors, so that the Bible, as originally given in its entirety, is the Word of God without error and fully reliable. The content of the Bible is not subjective, but represents objective truth as the unaltered word of God. The Bible is clearly understandable in its main teaching and is to be not simply the nominal rule of the Church, but the actual message of our lips and practice of our lives (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16).
