WHY “THE BREACH”?

ISAIAH 58:12

And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the BREACH, the restorer of streets to dwell in.

PSALM 106:23

Therefore he said he would destroy them- had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the BREACH before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them.

EZEKIEL 22:30

And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the BREACH before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

MICAH 2:13

He who opens the BREACH goes up before them; they break through and pass the gate going out by it. Their king passes on before them, the Lord at their head.

The Breach represents someone standing on a city's wall to alert people about approaching danger. Salem’s incredible diversity brings a wide range of challenges for its residents. We aim to uncover and discuss the community's true issues and encourage Christians to work together towards restoration in Salem.

Tyler is a Church Planter in the city of Salem. He and His wife met while serving the unhoused in Downtown Boston, and have a passion for meeting the needs of people in Salem.

The Breach Salem Church started in April of 2025 with the aim to be a light to the city, and seek it’s welfare:

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

How Do We Care for the City?

  • “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15

At The Breach Salem, we believe in the power of prayer. To that end, we first care for Salem by asking for God’s help and guidance in all things we do. If we want to see lasting change and care, we must trust the One who holds all things together.

  • “ And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

We believe the greatest need of every person is to know and love our Savior Jesus Christ. We also believe it is our greatest joy to be in fellowship with others, worship God together, and encourage each other to live faithfully for Him.

  • “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

LOVE Salem can be simplified as our community service group. We seek to show God’s love through acts of service. We seek to partner with work already being done in the city and launch new initiatives where we see unmet needs.

  • “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

The Breach Salem strives to be a place where everyone is welcomed to seek God. We hope to provide ways to encourage and build up regardless of where we are in our faith journey.
